Our Commitment to Privacy

True Care Billing ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting the privacy and security of Protected Health Information (PHI) in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and the HITECH Act. As a Business Associate to healthcare providers, we handle PHI solely to perform medical billing, coding, and revenue cycle management services on behalf of our clients.

What Information We Handle

In the course of providing our services, we may access or process:

  • Health insurance and payer information

  • Diagnosis and procedure codes (ICD/CPT)

  • Claims and payment data

  • Electronic health records as needed for billing purposes

How We Use PHI

We use PHI only for the purposes of:

  • Processing payments and managing accounts receivable

  • Provider credentialing and enrollment

  • Compliance reporting and audit support

  • Internal administration and quality assurance

    We do not sell, rent, or market PHI for any purpose.

How We Protect Your Information

True Care Billing maintains comprehensive safeguards including:

  • Administrative safeguards- staff training, access controls, and internal policies

Business Associate Agreements

Breach Notification

In the unlikely event of a data breach involving unsecured PHI, True Care Billing will notify affected Covered Entities within 60 days of discovery, in accordance with 45 CFR §164.410.
